On Tuesday, October 29, CCFESD staff dedicated time from their workday to volunteer at The Foster Closet in Sioux Falls.
A program provided by The Foster Network, The Foster Closet is designed to provide resources for foster families and children in need. Foster families can visit and access essential items for free, such as clothing, shoes, hygiene kits, blankets, books, toys and baby equipment. Serving more than 150 children each month, The Closet is supported by community donations, staff and volunteers.
After touring the facility and learning more about the services and items provided, CCFESD staff assisted by sorting, steaming and organizing clothing and transporting boxes of donations to storage. Surprised to see how large the facility is and just how many families and children are served, CCFESD staff were grateful to contribute to this mission!
