Each year, the Catholic Community Foundation for Eastern South Dakota produces seven charity events that support various ministries throughout the Diocese of Sioux Falls. We encourage you to read more about each of these events and join us in supporting these important ministries.

Taste the Goodness
Saturday, August 3, 2024 5 – 9 pm
Downtown Sioux Falls – 212 E 11th St
This outdoor food, wine and beer tasting event was established in 2015 and has quickly become a staple event in the diocese, taking place each summer in downtown Sioux Falls and featuring local vendors. All proceeds benefit the Bishop Dudley Hospitality House.

Bishop’s Cup Golf Tournament
The Bishop’s Cup Golf Tournament is the longest-running Bishop’s Charity event for our diocese. Established in 1994, this golf event is held in August of each year on the two most pristine courses in our diocese – The Country Club of Sioux Falls and Minnehaha County Country Club. Proceeds from this event benefit Broom Tree Retreat and Conference Center, located near Irene, SD.
Notre Dame Football Experience
The Notre Dame Football Experience is a unique opportunity for fans of Notre Dame football to experience the trip of a lifetime to South Bend, Indiana for a game. This experience includes round-trip flights via private jet, game tickets, tailgating at the stadium, a private guided tour of the campus and all meals and beverages throughout the day. All proceeds benefit the Bishop Dudley Hospitality House.
Bishop’s Charity Hunt
Where else will you find your Bishop trading in his traditional black clerics for a blaze orange vest other than the annual Bishop’s Charity Hunt? This two-day event was established in 1995 and takes place in the heart of pheasant country on a private preserve near Kimball, SD. All proceeds benefit Newman Catholic campus ministry in the Diocese of Sioux Falls.
Christmas at the Cathedral
Established in 1997, Christmas at the Cathedral has become a beloved annual tradition for many. Held in the beautiful and historic Cathedral of St. Joseph, six concerts are offered over a course of four days. All proceeds benefit the ongoing care and maintenance of the Cathedral of St. Joseph and the Bishop Dudley Hospitality House.
Bishop’s Fishing Tournament
Established in 1996, the annual Bishop’s Fishing Tournaments are held in two locations – on Big Stone Lake in Big Stone City and on the Missouri River near Pierre. These unique events include a bass and walleye tournament, Mass celebrated by a Bishop, a silent auction, raffles and an outdoor prime rib dinner. All proceeds benefit seminarian education and formation in our diocese.
