Celebrating the Success of the 29th Annual Bishop's Fishing Tournaments

Thanks to the generosity of so many, the 29th Annual Bishop’s Fishing Tournaments were a great success! Held once again in both Big Stone City and Pierre, we were blessed to be joined by Bishop DeGrood, several priests and nine of the men currently studying for the priesthood in the Diocese of Sioux Falls. In Pierre, we were particularly grateful to partner with the Western South Dakota Catholic Foundation.

Each tournament featured great fishing, a beautiful outdoor Mass, a silent auction, children’s games and activities, a social gathering and a delicious prime rib dinner. Combined, we were thrilled to have 59 boats on the water, 204 fishermen and a total of 517 people who joined us for Mass and dinner.

Together, these tournaments raised $192,000 to support seminarian education and formation in our Diocese! Thank you to everyone who supported this important cause through your generosity and participation in these tournaments!
