COVID-19 Relief Fund Impact

The Catholic Community Foundation would like to extend a sincere THANK YOU for the support that has been provided to date for the COVID-19 Relief Fund. Your support is truly changing lives during these challenging times. It has been beautiful to see individuals from all over our diocese come together to truly be the hands and feet of Jesus here on earth.

Here are three stories from this week where aid was provided:

The family of a private music instructor and part time music teacher had their family income cut in half due to the school closing and music lessons stopped. Because she is a part time employee, she does not have benefits or paid leave. Her husband works masonry but this is a seasonal job. When COVID-19 hit, he was just starting to get his hours back. To add to this family’s struggle, they lost their 1st grandchild in April to a still birth and soon after, their 19 year old son took his own life.

A widow of 20 years was forced to quit her job after receiving her terminal cancer diagnosis. She is struggling to make ends meet because she is unable to work during the pandemic.

A family with 3 small children (5, 3 and 1 month old) is struggling. The mother stays home to watch the children and the father tested positive for COVID-19 leaving him without a job and the family with no income.
